Diogenis Hotel

I had a lovely stay at Diogenis Hotel in Syros! The location is perfect—right by the port and very close to the center of Ermoupoli, making it easy to explore the town on foot. The building itself has a lot of character, with a charming neoclassical style that blends perfectly with the island’s atmosphere.The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, with all the basic amenities I needed. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always available to assist with any questions or recommendations about the island. I also appreciated the quiet environment, which allowed for a relaxing night's sleep despite being so close to the port.The only small downside was the breakfast—it could have had a bit more variety—but overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended for a comfortable and convenient stay in Syros!

Really nice hotel with a great location - 1 minute from ferry station. Clean and spacious rooms (for a Greek standard). Great cafeteria and bar with good coffee. I was there for a business trip to the local shipyard and it is 5 min walking distance. The staff was all friendly and helpful.

The single room is as standard of a room as you're going to get. Could use an update compared to the pictures you see of other rooms.Skip the breakfast. You are not missing anything at all. Hit a bakery in the area for breakfast and you can thank me later.The single room is fine as somewhere to sleep and drop your stuff but that's about it. Not tons of room around the bed due to much furniture. I'd remove one of the two nightstands to free up space.The bathroom is so small that you can barely move around in it. There is only one usable power outlet but that's by the bathroom/front door and no where near the bed or even the desk.

Beautiful establishment right smack dab in the middle of charming Ermoupolis. Front desk clerk was especially pleasant, welcoming and accommodating to this tired traveller. Water bottle (Greek brand, not Coca Cola “Avra”) in the room fridge is also thoughtful. (Can’t understand why all hotels don’t spend the extra pennies to provide this.) Pleased to see that body wash and shampoo were Greek products (Papoutsanis) but upset to see that the little soaps were Chinese made. Because air conditioning system is central (not individual heat pumps) I didn’t have the option of using the AC. Front desk informed me that they hadn’t “switched over” yet )

Hotel Diogenis in Ermoupoli Syros, is a must stay! Being well traveled with high standards, this hotel far exceeded our expectations. From the excellent location on the harbor, to the super friendly and efficient staff, to a magnificent modern room with romantic views. Breakfast is well presented, offering a large variety of foods for everyone’s tastes. If I return to Syros, I will definitely stay here again. For those of you who don’t know where Syros is, it’s a one hour ferry trip from Paros, and a one and a half hour trip from Mykonos. Please do add it on your travel itinerary!
