a month agoI recently stayed at Wyndham Grand Athens in one of the rooms with an Acropolis view — absolutely stunning to look at throughout the day and night. The hotel staff were truly outstanding, and I want to give a special shout-out to Niki at guest reception, who was exceptionally kind and helpful. Every interaction with the staff reflected warmth and professionalism. The hotel itself is lovely: clean rooms, spacious bathrooms, and a good amount of space overall. The rooftop breakfast was a highlight — not only was the breakfast area gorgeous, but the spread was fantastic: a generous variety of breads, eggs (prepared in different ways), bacon, sausage, salads, cheeses, cold cuts, jams, honeycomb, teas, juices — you name it. It was a great way to start the day.The restaurant in front of the hotel also deserves praise — the food was excellent and worth trying. That said, let’s be honest about the one drawback: the location. While the hotel is very well connected (close to the metro, taxis, and Uber), the surrounding neighbourhood isn’t the most desirable or charming part of Athens. If I could magically relocate this hotel to a different area, it would have been perfect. The rooftop pool was also smaller than expected compared to photos, but the ambience and view made up for it.Overall, if you’re looking for a good stay with excellent service, great food, and stunning Acropolis views, I’d definitely recommend Wyndham Grand Athens — just go in knowing the neighbourhood is not the most glamorous part of town.

2 weeks agoIt was our first time in Athens. Everyone was so helpful and friendly when we arrived. They assisted us with getting our bags to our room and finding us a cab to our cruise port. Nicole also helped us with finding good food to eat. We appreciate everyone's friendliness and helpfulness. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable.

a week agoVery nice room. Very amicable staff. Beautiful rooftop views of the Acropolis, as well as being two or three subway stops from Syntagma Square. We stayed there for two days to catch a cruise, but I would like to stay there again if I go to Athens.

in the last weekThe room was perfect and clean. However, the hotel charges for any extra coffee capsule (& only give 2 complimentary capsules). The breakfast was not worth it at all. Juices werent fresh, scrambled eggs were not edible and not enough food varieties. Its better to get breakfast outside of the hotel. The gym is not a real gym (probably an extra room that they decided to add a few machines in). Also, the area is not the best, the streets are dirty and full of homeless people so it was not nice to walk around. Better use the metro is staying in this area.

in the last weekIt’s really questionnable how this hotel could be a 5 star hotel. To me it should have 3 stars, no more. Most important reason NOT to book this hotel is the location. It’s in a really dodgy spot, it’s not too far from the lively restaurants but you still would not want to walk the streets back at night as the surroundings get grim very quickly. The pictures of the pool are deceiving, the pool is actually quite small. There are only a small number of sun loungers and staff doesn’t refill towels. Very mediocre experience. We found the breakfast buffet very dissapointing as well. All Bread and pastry options are horrible / dry / cheap. Unwashed tomatoes with the dirt still on it. Unripe fruits etc.Positives are kind staff and beautiful view from the top of the hotel.Overall I suggest you book elsewhere.
